Of the Hybrids highlights the failures of certain instants and modern medications. Moments and procedures that made visible the idea of reconfiguration of the medical body, concept which focused on introducing and imposing −and still does− an element of order in personal and social life as expression of a constant concern for subject and body.
In this sense, this series delves into objects used as substitutes / replacements or artifacts presenting a certain singular interaction with the milieu, while at the same time stressing the functional impossibility of these objects/body-body/objects, whose normalizing pretension places us in front of a constant strangeness.
Of the hybrids, manifests itself as a metaphor for the failure of modernity −and contemporariness−, the social and language of “normality” as well as the obsession to embrace and include everything within it. As such, it allows us to travel over certain frontiers, ultimately referring to a concept that is in continuous redefinition, because it is constantly unmarking and resisting in order to ensure survival: the anomalous.
